Holding On
You can still live for today Mom
Pieces of you
Fragments of memory
That could have
Or may have been
A hopeful and happy life
Beautiful colours
Tinsel and Garland
Wrapped and waiting for joy
Excited for the years to come
But tears filled each passing day
Pretty skating dress
Kenny’s pond
A wish for summer breeze and
Unrequited love
Built up walls pushed
The sound of laughter and
Flowers seemed hazy through
The smudged windows
Maybe tomorrow will be
A better day
Tomorrow I will open the curtains
Tomorrow I will open this
Dark and forbidden door
Tomorrow I will try to pick up and
Hold on to love and peace
Pieces of you
Pieces of yesterday
Pieces of what could have been
Love you so much
Love you so much
Birdy kisses
Good night

Title: Holding On Mom
Love the Blog Kathleen, and painting. So inspirational. I do that too with every painting I put a tag on the back of the painting with an inspirational saying.
Thanks so much Debra! You are an amazing person and artist. You inspire me to make space for art in my life and not let it slip away.❤
