Our mental health has been on the back burner when it should be on the forefront.

Our mental health health has been on the back burner when it should be on the forefront. Social distancing, Coping mechanisms not what they used to be, fear of going outside and rules….have been cut off from family and friends and regular activities that kept us sane. Is it safe?… Impending danger is the reality we face…our mental health has been on the back burner when it should be on the forefront. The pandemic has certainly brought up or triggered past traumas and has created more trauma…these times have made life difficult for many. It hasn’t been easy .. for parents and for kids. Daily life may have become a constant battle with no end in sight. Now that things are opening up and vaccines are becoming readily available to us it’s time to take the tools we need and safely take action. By getting vaccinated this can help us return to a lifestyle we loved with connections. If you have been struggling and still have yet to reach out for help please make sure to do so. We shouldn’t have to suffer alone. Past traumas and new trauma cannot be the winner… you are in the lead!

Oh Trauma, I cannot let you outrun me! Please notice I am stronger than thee. When your sinuous arms devour, I will conquer you by the hour! Fragile like an egg to crack, Continuous dreams lead me back. Breathe now deeply with a sigh, I am safe now and can cry. Louder louder my voice can yell! I will always talk and tell. I am free now see me soar? Feel my feet grounded on this floor? Notice everything around me here; I have won this race with cheer! And if for some reason I fall and trip, The iceberg surfaced with it’s tip. Please be patient kind and fierce, Memory’s knife does cut and pierce. For survivors do sail many boats, Dark waters, deep ends, hide the moat. Please throw a rope or extend a hand Help bring us back to shore and sand.
